Well, after the coldest December on record for Hendersonville, we have now (thankfully) returned to our normal January weather. Temperatures from now through next Wednesday will have daytime highs in the 50's and 60's and night time lows in the 20's and 30's. Just right for getting out for casual walks, mountain biking, hiking or even a round of golf at Cummings Cove or Etowah Valley Golf Club.

And after a great day relaxing in the mountains, remember there are a bunch of great restaurants within easy strolling distance of The Waverly Inn! We even have a couple of new ones to try for those of you who may not have visited within the last year. You could try the hottest new place in town, Vue Wine Bar or perhaps you want to watch your favorite team play while you eat at Mezzaluna. Both are within 7 minutes walk from our front door!

For those of you who have been to Hendersonville several times, you may not have taken the time to drop by our newest hidden treasure, the Heritage Museum. Located on the ground floor of the newly renovated Historic Henderson County Courthouse. This museum is much more than a place for locals to learn about their own history and is well worth a visit by anyone who loves the Southern Blue Ridge Mountains.

We hope we've giving yet another reason or two for you to visit Historic Hendersonville, NC very soon!

Chilly in the Mountains....warm at the Inn!

We hope you are all staying warm wherever you are. It's just downright cold here in Hendersonville with average daytime temps around freezing and night time lows in the teens. Nevertheless, the inn is warm and cozy and a perfect escape for renewing your heart, mind, and soul.

We left the day after Christmas and went to Washington, DC where we spent the week with our daughters, Christie and Tori, seeing movies, doing puzzles, reading books, and visiting with family. We all loved "Blindside", "Sherlock Holmes" kept us all on the edge of our seats, we chuckled through "Did You Hear About the Morgans" and "Up In The Air" was George Clooney at his best.

Each of these movies, plus loads more, are all showing at one of the two new stadium seating theaters (Epic Theater and Regal Cinemas) we have nearby and there's a brand new Barnes and Noble and several nice restaurants within walking distance of the Regal theater as well.

These are All GREAT excuses to come spend a couple of nights at The Waverly Inn. The evening social hour is an excellent time to trade movie experiences or share a new book you are reading. And we always have some nice wines during the evening social hour to assist in the sharing process!
